Office staff

The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses staff run the College's operations under the guidance of the CEO.  They work across administration, events, finance, membership, credentialing, and communications to support mental health nurses and the College's membership.

Adrian Armitage

CEO

Adrian joins the College after working in the health sector for four years at the AMA and AMSA, and four years at OPSM. Prior to this, Adrian headed up Federal Government engagement for the ACS for just over seven years and managed global marketing across 120 countries for IELTS for five years. He has lectured at ANU, is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and as a qualified journalist he is a full member of the NPC. In his spare time, Adrian enjoys a variety of hobbies including archery, Tae Kwon Do, scuba diving, tennis, and gardening.


Irene Dummett

Operations Manager

Irene has over ten years’ experience working in the health sector on various projects for non-profit organisations. She is skilled in project management, contract management, and stakeholder engagement. Irene is responsible for overseeing ACMHN membership and credentialing operational systems. Irene has also ran a number of events, worked for federal ministers, and law firms. She enjoys yoga, and keeping active in her free time.




Lauren Tait

Senior Administrative Officer

Lauren started with the College in March 2018, supporting the membership, finance, and events teams. She now does most of her work with credentialing while continuing her supporting admin role. Before coming to ACMHN, Lauren worked at the Australian College of Nursing in the scholarship area. Lauren is a competitive Ten Pin Bowler and is a regular gym-goer.





Ellen Fraser

Events Manager

Ellen Fraser has been with the ACMHN since May 2016. Ellen has extensive experience in event management and has held senior event management positions in a variety of settings in the hospitality, not-for-profit, and corporate sector spanning her 15-year career. Ellen completed her Masters of Business Administration in 2018 and enjoys spending her spare time with her dog, Kurt and her retired racehorse, Loki.




Bethany Longden

Membership Officer

After travelling and working internationally for several years, Bethany has settled in Australia from the UK. Her professional highlights include working with non-for-profits in Ethiopia and Nigeria, and as an English teacher in China. She therefore brings with her a wide variety of experience, involving many years in administration and events management. At the weekends she spends her time reading books and cuddling llamas.






Sophie Howard

Communications Officer

Sophie joined the ACMHN team as Communications Officer in July 2022. Sophie has formal qualifications and experience with government and advocacy organisations. She brings a high level of skill to the role for the communications team of the College. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys playing netball.

Angus Jolly

Communications Officer 

After graduating from the University of Canberra, Angus worked at Soldier On, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and the Department of Defence. As the Communications Officer at the ACMHN, he works on all things communications based, from the website, to social media, to newsletters. Outside of work Angus is a member of a local LGBTIQ Toastmasters group and plays D&D.
