Contributing to a national mental health online platform

Wednesday 15 September 2021

The ACT has now entered another month of lockdown, but despite that our team is very close to finalising the website and other operational and IT initiatives. Integration and cyber security have taken the most time, but the team is keen to get it right.

The National Mental Health Workforce Taskforce has again delayed its submission and continues to seek input, and we continue to participate. We are also contributing to the design of a national mental health online platform.

The Victorian Department of Health is currently looking for feedback on the integrated framework for treatment, care and support of people with mental illness and substance use/addiction needs accessing the MH&WB Services. A separate email has gone to Victorian members to contribute. We are also active in the MBS and Better Access space, as well as in dialogue with the AMA and the College of Psychiatrists. Continuing busy times.

The College has been contacted by a journalist from the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Journal. They would like to interview an MHN about the support they provide when managing end-of-life and chronic conditions. If you feel comfortable talking about this topic, please contact our communications team at communications@acmhn.org. They will put you in contact.
