ACMHN Symposium
Hosted by the ACMHN Northern NSW Branch
Multiple inquiries and commissions over several decades have highlighted many problems with the mental health care system in Australia. Massively increased expenditure, and unprecedented access to medicine and psychology has not led to any discernible improvement in the mental health of the nation.
Mental health nurses (MHNs) are the solution to addressing the problems of the ‘missing middle’ and the seriously under-served in Australia. MHNs journey with people experiencing extreme states, are with them when they are at their lowest point, most vulnerable, and at times of crisis. Mental health nurses are the solution.
The ACMHN Symposium offers a series of workshops that highlight practical skills for every nurse and every person to be not only part of the solution, but be the solution for individuals, families, and communities.
