About the role

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Clinical Nurse within Adult Community Mental Health.

Community-based mental health nurses play a vital role in Australia’s healthcare system. With 1 in 5 people experiencing a mental illness in any given year, the demand for mental health support continues to rise. Various socioeconomic factors, such as access to services, living conditions and employment status, can influence someone’s mental health. This impact is not limited to the individual but extends to their families and caregivers. As such, a community mental health nurse’s role is to provide all affected individuals with the support they need. Join our lovely Mental Health Community Team at NALHN to make a difference.

In this role you will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. The Clinical Nurse role continues to be predominantly clinical in nature, however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios, have hands on involvement in the group rehabilitation program and provide case management in close coordination with the multi-disciplinary team.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered as a Nurse by the Nursing/Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
