Membership options

The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses offers a range of memberships to suit mental health nurses at various stages throughout their careers – we offer options for students through to retired practitioners and also have flexible options, such as discounted membership whilst on maternity leave. 

 

Minimum length for membership is 12 months. Please see below for further details*

 

     

Ordinary member

Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses with an interest in the field of mental health

Associate member 

For people who have a special interest in the mental health field and who are not otherwise eligible for the ordinary member category.

Maternity leave

Evidence of maternity leave status must accompany renewal. Provide us with maternity leave approval from your place of employment, or a copy of the baby's birth certificate if you are self-employed

For people who have a special interest in the mental health field but who are retired, please provide evidence of your retirement with your renewal.

Full-time student

For full-time undergraduate nursing students or RNs enrolled in a full-time postgraduate course with relevance to mental health nursing. Evidence of current full-time enrollment must accompany applications and renewals. Other full-time students may apply for special consideration.

*Membership Conditions


As a rule the ACMHN does not refund membership fees.  Minimum length of membership is 12 months after which a member may resign at any time in writing to the membership team. Membership fees are due annually and individuals are liable to pay the annual subscription fee in full or by making monthly payments, as such these will not normally be refunded.

Instances where it is considered acceptable for a refund to be administered include:
  • Identified overpayments
  • An error has been made by the ACMHN
  • Exceptional circumstances supported by documentation
