Online learning courses

The ACMHN has developed a range of mental health nursing online learning programs specific to the everyday practices of nurses and midwives. We designed each program to enhance the journey of the person with mental health issues through the health care system to ensure that all clinicians are providing holistic, integrated care.

All of the College's courses are offered through our online learning portal. Upon completion, mental health nurses will earn Continuing Professional (CPD) points.

Steps to access CPD courses

Our Learning Management System (LMS) is still undergoing review and is in the process of being integrated into this website. Until this process is complete, if you want to access the CPD courses we have available, please follow this link to the Scodle platform. If you haven’t already been to this new section of our CPD portal, you will need to sign up for a new account. If you are signing up for the first time, you will need to firstly complete your profile. Once this is complete you will then have access to all the CPD modules available.

The non-directive pregnancy course is now titled 'Perinatal care and mental health'. To commence the course, just click the 'Open' button and begin each module. Please ensure you hit 'SAVE & EXIT' at the top right hand corner of each module so that your course is saved. At the completion of the course assessment you will be able to download your certificate of completion.

Please note that if you are completing this as a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse and are wanting to be eligible to provide 3 sessions of non-directive counselling to women in the perinatal period who are referred under MBS Item Number 81010, you will need to ensure you:

1. provide your ACMHN Credential Number on your profile where indicated; and

2. forward your certificate to [email protected] so that we can inform Medicare of your eligibility. At the moment we are not automatically notified when someone completes this course, so will be relying on you to let us know.

Once the integration with this website is complete, this feature will be added so that you don’t need to notify us, but for the time being we ask that you please bear with us.
