NSW Mental Health Pathways in Practice (MHPiP) Program hosted by Nurse Educator SIG
The first virtual meeting of the Mental Health Nurse Educator SIG. Caitlin will share experiences of the NSW MHPiP Program.
Mental Health Pathways in Practice (MHPiP) offers a new and innovative professional development pathway for clinicians working in mental health. The program is unique because it takes advantage of work-based learning opportunities to consolidate learning into practice.
The program offers a means to develop or enhance your mental health practice, or the opportunity to evaluate the current evidence base and contemporary methods of practice. The focus is on the application to everyday practice, to develop the capabilities needed to continue to meet the current and emerging needs of people with lived experience, their carers, families, and service standards.
Presenter: Caitlin Stuchbury
Clinical Nurse Educator at Hunter New England Local Health District, Caitlin recently presented her thoughts on learning theories within mental health nursing professional development at #ACMHN2022: 'Applying rehabilitation principles to nursing education: developing adaptive, self-empowered nurses'
