Christmas meeting hosted by Victoria Branch
Join the Victorian Branch for the last meeting of the year for a presentation and dinner (at attendees own expense) at the North Fitzroy Arms Hotel. We welcome members and their guests to this upcoming event to network with friends and colleagues and enjoy a catch up prior to Christmas.
Presentation – Changing for Good Program
Changing for Good (C4G) is a free national telephone counselling program for men that helps to reduce the risk of family violence. C4G has 2 streams of service:
- Violence Prevention Program (VPP) for men who are experiencing conflict in their family relationships.
- Post Men’s Behaviour Change Program (Post MBCP) for men who have completed a Men’s Behaviour Change Program in the previous 12 months.
Presenter: John Soulsby
John has been working in the field of mental health for over 25 years locally and internationally. He has managed numerous programs in various locations, including Family Violence programs. John has had success working with men to reduce the risk of them using violence with their families and he has found the work very rewarding.
John is Clinical Manager of OnTheLine, which is part of MensLine Australia. In this role, he oversees all operations of two programs they are delivering which are aimed at addressing family violence, "Changing For Good".
OnTheLine counselling support services help with Relationship issues, Mental illness (e.g. depression, anxiety, PTSD), Domestic and family violence (using and experiencing), Substance abuse and addiction, Suicide prevention, and Social isolation and loneliness.
